Pakistan on June 27, 2022, signed a debt relief agreement with France for the suspension of a $107 million loan under the G-20 Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI) framework allowed the poor nations to absorb Covid-19 shock. This amount, initially repayable between July and December 2021 will now be repaid over a period of six years, including one year grace period in semi-annual installments. The agreement was signed by Secretary of Economic Affairs Mian Asad Hayaud Din and French Ambassador in Islamabad Nicolas Galey.
