The coalition government on 10 June 2022 proposed Rs1,523 billion defense budget for fiscal year 2022-23, which shows 11.16 per cent increase over the estimated allocations of Rs1,370 billion for fiscal year 2021-22. The allocation makes up nearly 1.94pc of the GDP and 16pc of the total expenditure planned by the government for the next year.
